FairPlay Refill Bonus — the offer waiting on your second top-up

Your first deposit collected the big one-time match. After that, FairPlay swaps in a smaller offer that only appears on certain days, printed on the deposit screen when it is live. This page covers what it pays, how to tell it apart from the joining bonus, and the fifteen seconds of reading that decide whether a top-up was worth timing.

Assi Ghat in November, and a top-up nearly fumbled

Dev Deepawali had emptied out about an hour before. Wax was still smeared down the steps at Assi, the boatmen were arguing over diesel money, and my friend Rohit had planted us at the chai stall behind the ghat with two kulhads and a phone he kept turning over in his hand. He had opened his account back in September, paid money in once, and left it alone since. Uttar Pradesh were playing in the morning and he wanted to add funds before the toss. "Same bonus as last time, na?" he asked. No. Not the same bonus at all, and that gap is the reason this page needs to exist.

His first deposit had picked up the joining bonus — one time, the largest percentage his account will ever be shown, gone the instant it was used. Everything after that falls under the refill bonus instead. Smaller, repeatable, and live only on selected days. That evening it happened to be running, which he would have sailed straight past, because what most people do on a second deposit is thumb directly to the amount box and pay.

We sat there for another twenty minutes while the diyas burned down and I walked him through it. What follows is that conversation, tidied up, with the river noise removed.

What actually happens when you top up on a refill day

Here is the sequence exactly as it ran on his screen, on a cold stone step with the water behind us. He opened the deposit page. Above the amount field sits a promotions row. On a day with nothing running, that row is either missing or shows nothing you can select. That night it held a refill tile, with the match rate printed on the face of it and the full terms one tap behind. He selected the tile before typing an amount, which is the right order — the offer binds itself to the deposit you are about to send, not to one you have already pushed through.

Approving a UPI payment with a PIN on a phone
The opt-in tap looks identical to the joining bonus one. Read what is printed for this deposit, not what you remember from the last.

Then the amount. Say he was paying in ₹2,000 — a hypothetical, since the figure that matters is whatever you actually intend to deposit and whatever minimum your payment method is showing that day. The screen worked the match out against the rate on the tile, split the result into cash and bonus so both were visible before confirming, and printed the wagering multiple attached to that bonus portion. He paid over UPI. The app threw him out to his payments app and caught him on the way back. The balance updated with two numbers rather than one: money he could withdraw, and bonus money still sitting behind turnover.

That split is the part worth slowing down for. Bonus funds are not yours yet. They convert once the wagering multiple has been turned over through ordinary play, and until then they live on their own line. None of this is hidden — it is printed on the screen you just used — but it is easy to skim when the aarti bells are going and half the ghat is standing up to leave at once.

Rohit read the terms. Took him about fifteen seconds. He now does the same thing standing on the foot overbridge at Cantt station, which tells you how much of an interruption it really is.

Why it is not sitting there every single day

A match on every recharge, forever, stops being a promotion and turns into a permanent discount on the cost of playing. Every deposit would carry it. The platform would price everything else around it. The offer would then mean nothing, because it would be indistinguishable from the ordinary resting state of the account. Holding it to selected days is what keeps it working as an incentive at all.

It also means the days are decided on the account side rather than published here as a fixed weekly rota. Anyone who tells you Tuesday is always refill day is guessing, and guessing about something that costs nothing to check properly. The paan shop in Lanka pulls its shutter down at a predictable hour. A refill offer does not behave like that, so treat the deposit screen as the timetable and stop looking for one anywhere else.

The three lines I read before pressing confirm

One: is an offer showing at all today. Two: what rate the tile is quoting, because it is under no obligation to match the last refill offer you took. Three: the wagering multiple sitting in the terms behind that tile. Nothing here is inherited from your first deposit. The joining bonus terms you read in September describe the joining bonus, and rereading them will not tell you one true thing about tonight's refill tile.

The cost of checking is fifteen seconds and the cost of not checking is discovering afterwards that you turned down free money, or that you accepted turnover you had not budgeted for. There is no version of this where reading first leaves you worse off.

Recharge, reload, refill — one action, three words

People use all three and mean the same thing: adding funds to an account that already has a deposit behind it. Search for any of them and you land on this mechanism. The only real distinction is against the joining bonus, which applies to a deposit that has never happened before and can never happen again. If you are weighing this up against what other platforms run, the same vocabulary split shows up across the whole category — a large one-off welcome match, then a modest recurring top-up match after it. That pattern is not particular to one brand.

Cashback runs on its own clock

A refill tile rewards one specific deposit. Weekly cashback rewards net play across a period, whether or not you deposited during it. Both can be live in the same week without interfering, since they are counting completely different things. What they are not is a single pot you can add together in your head before either has settled. Each is opted into separately and tracked separately, so read each one's terms on its own screen.

FairPlay Secure Payments: a payment confirmed on a phone beside card, UPI and bank transfer options
First deposit or fifteenth, the payment rails are the same. All that changes is which tile, if any, is attached on the day.

The account does not know you are in Varanasi

This comes up constantly, usually from somebody who is about to travel. A refill offer is not routed by pin code. The tile Rohit saw at Assi is the tile his cousin sees in Sigra, the same one somebody sees waiting out a delayed train at Banaras station, and the same one that shows up on a laptop in an office in Nadesar. Offers are attached to accounts and to days, not to towers or neighbourhoods. Everything written on FairPlay India about the account working identically across the country holds here without an asterisk.

Nor does the device change eligibility. A FairPlay login from the app and one from a browser reach the same account and the same deposit screen. Where the app earns its place is signal quality rather than promotions: down in the galis off Godowlia, between tall houses with an e-rickshaw crawling ahead of you, a browser tab will time out on a half-loaded page where the app simply waits and finishes. In August, when the river is up and the whole city seems to be indoors on mobile data at once, that difference is worth something. What it is not is a different set of offers.

Travelling changes nothing either. Take the train down to Prayagraj for a weekend and the account carries on exactly as it was — same balance, same wagering counter, same tile or absence of tile on the deposit screen. There is no local version of the refill bonus to hunt for.

If you have not opened an account yet

Then this page is describing your future, not your present, and the order matters. A FairPlay register step costs nothing and commits you to no deposit at all. You can sit inside the account, look around the markets, and never pay in a rupee. The moment you do pay in for the first time, that deposit collects the joining bonus — the big one — and the refill mechanism only becomes relevant from your second top-up onwards.

Which is worth saying plainly, because a fair number of people read a refill page first, decide the offer looks thin, and walk away without realising the thin offer is not the one they would have been given. Register, verify, and let your first deposit take the larger match. Then come back to this page when the second one is due.

The one thing worth doing at the start is finishing verification properly, because it is easier to send documents on a quiet Sunday than on the morning of a match when you want money moving in a hurry. Everything sits on your FairPlay ID, and a half-finished account is the most common reason a top-up feels slower than it should.

The offer that turns up in a forward

A cousin of a neighbour in Bhelupur sent Rohit a message a few weeks after that evening. Big match rate, bigger than anything he had seen on his own screen, a countdown, and a payment link to "claim before midnight". He rang me instead of tapping it, which is the correct instinct and the reason he still has his money.

Take the rule as simple as it can be made. A genuine refill offer lives on your own deposit screen, inside your own account, and nowhere else. If it reaches you as a forward, a shortened link, a QR code in a group, or a DM from an account with a logo lifted off a website, it is not an offer. Open the app yourself, go to the deposit page yourself, and see whether anything is actually there. If nothing is, nothing is, no matter how urgent the message sounded.

The second rule is about OTPs, and it does not bend. Nobody from support will ever ring you asking for the code that just arrived on your phone. Not to "activate" a bonus, not to "verify" a deposit, not to reverse a failed payment. That code exists to keep somebody else out of your account, and reading it aloud hands them the door. Genuine customer support works through channels you reach from inside the account or from the site itself — never through a number that arrived in the same message as the offer.

The third is about payment links. A real deposit begins on the deposit screen and hands you off to your own UPI app, where you see the payee and approve it. It never starts with a link somebody sent you. If a page asks for card details, a UPI PIN, or a password in a browser window you did not open yourself, close it. A UPI PIN authorises money leaving your account; it never receives anything, whatever the page claims.

Where the wagering actually gets worked off

Bonus funds from a refill tile clear the same way any others do: through betting you would plausibly have done anyway. Cricket markets in the season, the casino tables when there is nothing on, whatever your habit already is. No secret category clears a refill bonus faster than a joining bonus. The contribution rates published with the offer decide the pace, and those rates attach to the game, not to which flavour of deposit match funded the balance.

Blackjack and baccarat usually contribute at a reduced rate, and the logic is the same one set out on the bonuses page. Both are low house-edge games. If they counted in full, a wagering requirement could be turned over at close to no real cost, and the entire mechanism would collapse into a giveaway. Reduced contribution is what stops that, not a penalty aimed at anybody.

Worth being honest about the arithmetic too. Turnover is not loss — money staked and returned counts towards the requirement — but a house edge applies on every pass through it, so the expected cost of clearing is real and it grows with the multiple. A bonus you have to turn over many times is a smaller bonus than it looks. That is precisely why the multiple on the tile is one of the three things to read.

Two mistakes I have watched people make on those steps

The first is assuming every deposit carries something like the welcome match, and topping up on autopilot without looking. The offer, if there is one, is smaller by design, and on many days there will be none. Somebody expecting the September number and getting nothing tends to conclude the platform has quietly taken something away, when in fact they simply deposited on a day with no promotion attached.

The second is the mirror image, and it is more expensive. Somebody checks once, finds nothing running, decides the refill bonus is a myth, and never opens that row again. Then they deposit repeatedly on days when a tile was sitting right there, unselected. Because it moves by day, remembering last week's answer is worse than useless — it actively stops you looking. The habit that works is boring: open the screen, glance at the row, act on what is there tonight.

What a refill bonus does not touch

It changes nothing about verification, nothing about limits, and nothing about how a withdrawal is handled once the wagering behind it has cleared. It is an addition to one specific deposit's balance and it stops there. Taking it does not upgrade your account and skipping it does not downgrade it. Your standing, your verification state and your withdrawal route are all exactly where they were.

One practical consequence of that is worth planning around. Bonus money is locked until turnover finishes, so if you know you will want to take funds out on Thursday, accepting a fresh offer on Wednesday night ties part of that balance up. Some evenings the right move is to decline the tile and deposit plain. That option is always on the table, and taking it costs you nothing later.

Why this is a page of its own

Because "recharge bonus" and "joining bonus" are searched separately by people in genuinely different situations, and a single page trying to serve both ends up serving neither. One reader has never deposited and is trying to work out what the first one pays. The other has been playing since the last IPL and wants to know why the second deposit looked so much thinner. They need different answers, so they get different pages.

If you take one thing from all of this, make it the fifteen seconds. Open the deposit screen, look at the row above the amount box, read the rate and read the multiple. Rohit does it now without thinking about it, somewhere between the chai stall and the top of the steps, and he has not once mixed up which bonus he was taking since.

FAQ

Refill bonus questions

The things people ask on their second deposit, answered without the marketing voice.

Is the refill bonus just the joining bonus under another name?

No. They are the same shape of offer arriving at two different moments. The joining bonus fires once, on the first deposit an account ever makes, and it carries the biggest match that account will ever be shown. The refill bonus covers everything after that, at a lower rate, and only on days it is actually running. If you have never deposited, the refill bonus is not your offer yet — your first top-up is still sitting on the larger one-time match.

Do refill offers differ between the app and the mobile browser?

They do not. The deposit screen pulls the same promotions in both places, so the tile you get in the app is the tile you would get in a browser tab. What the app changes is behaviour on a weak signal — in the lanes behind Chowk where the phone drops to one bar, the app holds the session together better than a browser page does. Eligibility belongs to the account, not to the software you opened it in.

If I ignore a refill offer this week, will it stop appearing?

It will not. Each deposit is judged on its own against whatever promotion happens to be live at that minute. Skipping one, or paying in on a day with nothing running, leaves no mark on the account and pushes you down no queue. Miss six in a row and the seventh is offered on exactly the same footing as the first.

Can a refill bonus and an accumulator boost both apply in one week?

Yes, because two different things set them off. A refill bonus attaches itself to a deposit. An accumulator boost attaches itself to a winning multi-leg sports bet once that bet settles. Taking one does not consume the other and neither stands in for the other. Topping up on Friday and having a four-fold land on Sunday is an ordinary week, not a clash.

Why is the refill match smaller than what I got on my first deposit?

The first one is the cost of bringing a brand-new account through the door, and it is paid exactly once. The refill is a running cost on somebody who is already playing. A platform paying the joining rate on every deposit for years would be a different business, and would have to recover that money somewhere less visible. Keeping the recurring rate modest is precisely what allows the offer to come back at all.

How am I supposed to know which days it runs on?

The deposit screen is the only answer, and it is a same-day answer. No calendar is published, no weekday is fixed, and nothing outside the account can tell you in advance. If a refill tile is sitting above the amount box when you open it, the offer is live for you; if that row is empty, it is not. Anybody forwarding you a schedule is passing on a rumour.

Is the wagering requirement identical to the joining bonus one?

The structure is identical — bonus funds sit apart from cash until a multiple has been turned over through ordinary play. The multiple itself is allowed to differ from one offer to the next, which is the whole reason to open the terms behind the tile instead of assuming they carry across. Two refill offers a month apart are under no obligation to match each other either.
