FairPlay Joining Bonus — read the figure on your own deposit screen

A match against the first money you put in, credited once, on a brand-new account. The mechanism is not complicated. The bit that catches people out is where the live number is published — and it is never the screenshot going around your cricket group on a Sunday evening.

How to Claim It

Four steps, and one of them has a door that shuts

Everything here is reversible except the opt-in, which is why it sits third and not last.

  1. Sign up with a mobile number and the OTP that follows. No card details at this stage, and no password handed to anybody for any reason.

  2. Open the deposit screen and read the joining bonus percentage and its cap where the account itself prints them, rather than trusting the figure on the screenshot that sent you looking.

  3. Tick the opt-in before the payment goes through. On most offers there is no going back and adding it afterwards, which makes this the one step with a door that shuts.

  4. Read the wagering attached to the offer and decide with open eyes whether you want it on this particular deposit. The arithmetic is laid out in full on the bonuses page.

A terrace in Sardarpura, and a screenshot nobody had opened

Middle of April, one of those Jodhpur evenings where the stone finally lets go of the afternoon heat around eight and the terraces fill up. Four of us on Ravi's roof in Sardarpura, plastic chairs dragged into a rough circle, a steel jug of makhaniya lassi someone had carried up from near Sojati Gate. A laptop propped against the water tank, Rajasthan Royals batting second, the sound low because his mother was asleep downstairs.

Somewhere in the ninth over, Ravi's cousin dropped a screenshot into the group. Purple gradient, a percentage set in type large enough to read from across the roof, the words joining bonus underneath, and a line claiming the whole thing ended at midnight. Within a minute two people had forwarded it onward. One of them started asking how quickly a deposit could go through before the deadline.

Nobody on that roof had opened an account and looked. That gap — between a number on a picture and a number on your own screen — is the entire subject of this page. The offer is real enough. The screenshot is a photocopy of a photocopy, and it has been passing through phones in Jodhpur, Jaipur and everywhere else for weeks, carrying whatever figure happened to be current on the day it was first taken.

Ravi did the sensible thing, which was also the slow thing. He opened the platform, registered, and left the deposit for the following evening when the match was not distracting him. The offer waited. It was still there.

What actually happens when you claim it

Sign-up came first, and it wanted less than he expected: a mobile number, then the OTP that lands a few seconds later. That is the account created. No card at that point, no bank details, no payment of any kind. Opening it costs ₹0, which is worth saying because a fair number of people assume the bonus requires buying your way in somehow.

The next evening he opened the deposit screen. This is the part worth slowing down for. The joining bonus is printed there — the percentage, and the cap that limits how far it stretches — as they stand at that moment, on that account. Whatever the group screenshot said, this is the version that governs. It took him about four seconds to read and it replaced a week of secondhand guessing.

Underneath the amount sat the opt-in. Not ticked by default, which surprises people. He ticked it, confirmed the payment through UPI, and watched the balance come back as two figures rather than one: the money he had put in, and the bonus funds alongside it. Those two behave differently, and the account keeps them visually apart precisely so you cannot forget that.

From there nothing dramatic happens. He bet the way he was going to bet anyway, on the cricket, in ordinary markets. The wagering counter moved as he went. That is the whole mechanic: sign up, read the real figure, opt in before paying, then play normally while the requirement works itself down. The one irreversible moment in that sequence is the tick, which is why it deserves your attention more than the percentage does.

FairPlay Bonus Terms: Promotion terms and conditions displayed on a phone screen
Whatever the forward said, the deposit screen holds the version that actually applies to your account tonight.

Why the tick is not ticked for you

It would be easy to apply the bonus to every deposit by default and call it generosity. The reason it is not automatic is that bonus funds change how your balance behaves. They carry a wagering requirement, and until that requirement is cleared they are not money you can move to your bank. The full arithmetic, including how different games count towards it, is set out on the bonuses page.

For some deposits that trade is obviously worth taking. For others it is not, and a player who wants a clean balance they can withdraw on Friday has a perfectly good reason to skip the offer. Making it a decision at the moment of paying in is the honest design. It means nobody wakes up with a requirement attached to money they thought was theirs to take out.

Why the first one is usually the biggest one you will see

Across this whole category, the joining match tends to be the largest percentage a platform ever puts on the table — larger than refill offers, larger than most seasonal ones. The reason is plain commercial arithmetic rather than generosity. A first deposit happens once per account, so the cost lands once. A refill match lands on deposits somebody was going to make anyway, week after week, so it gets set lower.

Which is a genuine argument for not wasting your first deposit on a token amount. If you know roughly what you want to put in over a season, the first payment is the one where the match works hardest. Say you had planned to put in a few thousand rupees across three or four deposits over an IPL — front-loading some of that captures a percentage the later deposits will never see.

None of that suspends the maths. A large headline percentage chained to a heavy wagering multiple, cleared on games with a thick house edge, can cost more to work through than a smaller offer with lighter terms. Size and value are separate questions. Comparing platforms on percentage alone points you at the loudest number rather than the best one, and the multiple sitting behind it is where the real comparison lives.

The same account, whether you are in Jodhpur or anywhere else

Ravi's brother works in Surat and comes home twice a year. He was convinced his account would behave differently down there, or that the offer he had seen in Rajasthan was a Rajasthan thing. It is not. The account belongs to the login, not to a city, a landmark or the tower your phone happens to be talking to. The deposit screen prints the same offer on a rooftop off Chopasni Road as it does in a shared flat in Surat.

That matters more than it sounds during travel. People sign in from the Bhagat Ki Kothi platform waiting for a train, from a hotel in Udaipur during a wedding week, from a friend's connection when the power has gone in their own lane. Nothing needs re-registering, nothing needs claiming again, and the bonus, once credited, is simply part of the account. FairPlay India covers how the wider setup works across the country if you want the longer version.

Local conditions do change the experience, though not the terms. June in Jodhpur brings dust storms that take the power with them, and a phone running on mobile data in the lanes below Mehrangarh will load slower than one on a decent home connection. That is the practical case for the app: it pulls prices and the deposit screen with less fuss on a weak signal. It changes nothing about what the bonus is.

If you have not registered yet

Start with the account and leave the money for later. That order costs nothing and buys you the ability to check the offer yourself instead of asking somebody in a group. FairPlay registration is a mobile number and an OTP, roughly two minutes end to end, and it does not oblige you to deposit that day or that month.

Once the account exists, the FairPlay login is how you get back in from any device, which is the only thing you need to keep hold of. Set your account ID details up properly at the start rather than at the moment you first want to withdraw — the second is always a worse time to be sorting out paperwork.

After that, look around before paying anything in. Read what the deposit and withdrawal pages say about timings, check which payment methods suit you, and open the bonuses page once so the wagering is not a surprise. Twenty minutes of reading is a small price against a requirement you did not understand when you accepted it.

FairPlay Bonus Calculations: Working out numbers on paper beside a phone
Percentage, multiple, house edge: three numbers, one calculation, best done before the tick rather than after.

A hedged example, so the shape is clear

Numbers move, so treat this purely as a shape. Say you were putting in ₹2,000 as a first deposit and the screen showed some match percentage with a cap above that amount. The bonus lands as a separate figure beside your ₹2,000. Say the requirement asked you to stake the bonus some number of times before it converted. Your job then is one piece of arithmetic: total staking required, against the average edge on whatever you intend to bet.

If you were going to stake broadly that much anyway over the coming weeks, the requirement costs you very little and the bonus is close to free money. If clearing it would push you into betting three times more than you meant to, it is not a bonus at all — it is a target dragging you around. Same offer, two completely different answers, decided entirely by how you were going to play before it appeared.

The forward, the phone call, and the payment link

Around any bonus of this kind, three approaches turn up repeatedly, and all three lean on the same thing: you being in a hurry.

The first is the screenshot from the terrace. A picture with a percentage on it and a deadline underneath, forwarded by somebody who was themselves forwarded it. Even when the figure was accurate once, it carries no authority now. Nobody who could honour it sent it to you. The habit that defuses it is simple: open the deposit screen and read what the account says before you believe anything about the offer.

The second is a phone call, usually within a day of your first deposit, from somebody warm and confident who says they are from support. There is a problem with your bonus, or your account needs verifying, and to fix it they need the code that just arrived on your phone. That code is the key to your account. No genuine member of staff needs it, ever, and there is no circumstance in which reading it out to a caller is the correct move. Put the phone down and reach support through the channels the site publishes, not the number that rang you.

The third is a link. A message offers to add the joining bonus to your account, or to top you up at a better rate, and asks you to pay through the page it opens. Deposits happen on the deposit screen inside your own account and nowhere else. A payment page that arrived by message is not part of the platform, whatever it is dressed up as, and money that leaves through it is simply gone.

All three collapse under the same question: does the account itself say this? If your own screen does not show it, it is not an offer, it is a story. The people who lose money to these rarely lose it because they were careless in general. They lose it because a deadline was ticking and checking felt like it would cost them the deal.

Where the wagering actually gets cleared

Nothing exotic is required. The requirement comes down through ordinary betting — on cricket, which is where most of it happens in this part of the country, on football if you follow the European weekends, or across casino tables like Teen Patti and roulette. You are not asked to play anything you would otherwise avoid.

What varies is the rate at which each game counts. Different markets contribute at different percentages, and that table is published with the offer rather than buried somewhere general. Read it before you choose where to clear the requirement, because picking a game that contributes at a low rate quietly triples the work. During a Ranji week at Barkatullah Khan Stadium, when domestic cricket is the thing actually on, that table is the difference between a requirement that clears itself and one that never seems to move.

When the amount stops being enjoyable

A bonus is designed to encourage more staking than you would do unprompted. Saying that plainly seems better than pretending otherwise. Where it goes wrong is when clearing a requirement starts driving the deposits rather than the other way round, and that shift is gradual enough to miss from the inside.

The tools for that are on the account already. Deposit and session limits are set once and then hold the line without needing willpower on a bad evening. Set them while you are calm, before the offer is in play, rather than after a night that made you wish you had. If it has already gone further than you wanted, contact the team — there are more options there than most people assume.

Ravi cleared his requirement somewhere around the end of the league stage, without ever staking more in a week than he had planned to. His cousin, the one with the screenshot, still has not opened an account. He is still forwarding the picture.

FAQ

Joining bonus questions

Names, codes, timing, and what becomes of the money if the wagering never finishes.

Is the joining bonus the same thing as the welcome bonus?

One offer, two names. Terms and conditions tend to say welcome bonus, because that is the tidier legal phrase. Everybody in a cricket group says joining bonus, because that is what it feels like from the outside: something handed over for joining. Either way you are looking at the match credited against your first deposit once the account exists. If a page uses one phrase and your deposit screen uses the other, nothing has changed underneath.

A friend forwarded me a percentage. Can I go by that figure?

Treat it as a rumour until the account confirms it. Offers get revised, and a screenshot keeps circulating in family groups long after the version it captured has been replaced. There is also nobody standing behind that number: the platform never agreed to honour a figure a stranger typed over a gradient. Open the deposit screen and read what is printed there. That reading takes ten seconds and settles the question completely.

Do I need a promo code before making the first deposit?

Not for the standard offer. Opting in on the deposit screen is the whole of it, and there is no box waiting for a string of letters. Should a particular promotion ever require a code, the account will say so plainly at the point of payment. A code that reaches you only through a message, with a promise that it beats the public offer, is a claim the platform has not made.

Can I claim it from the mobile site, or is the app required?

The mobile site handles sign-up and deposits exactly the same way, so the app is not a condition of anything. What the app changes is speed. On a patchy signal it pulls prices and the deposit screen faster than a browser tab does, which matters more than people expect when a match is in progress. Install it if you want that, not because you think the bonus depends on it.

I registered a while ago and never deposited. Have I lost it?

No. The offer hangs on your first deposit rather than on a countdown that started when you signed up, so an account opened during one tournament and funded during the next is still a first deposit. What does run on a clock is the wagering, once the bonus has actually been credited. That timer starts at the deposit. Registering early and depositing later costs you nothing.

Does it arrive as cash I can withdraw straight away?

It arrives as bonus funds, sitting alongside your deposited money rather than mixed into it. Until the wagering requirement has been cleared, that portion is not money you can send to your bank. Clear the requirement and it converts into ordinary withdrawable balance. Reading the split as two numbers on one screen, rather than one lump sum, keeps expectations honest from the first day.

What happens if I never finish the wagering?

The bonus lapses and whatever has not yet converted disappears with it. Your own deposited money is untouched by that — it was never part of the bonus balance. The account shows how much wagering is left and when the offer runs out, so nothing about it is hidden from you. The bonuses page sets out how the requirement is counted and which games move it along fastest.
