One cricket-match evening in Pune, Rohan tries to move a withdrawal request forward and sees that his account needs verification. His first Aadhaar photo has bright glare across the name, while a second picture is cropped at one corner. The upload appears successful, but the review remains pending. This is a common FairPlay ID problem: the issue is often not the document itself, but whether the requested details can be read and matched. The FairPlay ID overview is a useful starting point, followed by the checks below.
Which documents may be required
The exact document set can vary by account and by the verification request shown inside your profile. FairPlay may ask for identity, address or payment-ownership evidence. Commonly used Indian documents include:
- Government-issued photo ID, such as a PAN card, Aadhaar card, passport, voter ID card or driving licence.
- Address proof, such as Aadhaar, passport, voter ID, driving licence, a utility bill or a bank statement in your name, if specifically requested.
- Proof that you own the payment method, such as a bank statement, passbook, cancelled cheque or a clear image showing the relevant bank or UPI details.
- A current selfie or liveness image if the verification screen asks you to confirm that you are the document holder.
- An additional document if the name, date of birth, address or payment details do not match the information on your account.
PAN is widely used as photo identification, but it does not show an address. Aadhaar, passport, voter ID and driving licence can contain both identity and address details. A bank statement may support address or payment ownership, depending on what the upload form asks for. Do not assume that one document will satisfy every request.
The name on your profile should correspond with the name on the documents you submit. Indian documents may use a full name, initials or a different name order. If your passport, Aadhaar and bank account are not identical, do not guess or alter the files. Follow the account prompt and ask support how to present the documents together.
Use an address that is current and consistent with the requested proof. If a document is in a regional Indian language, upload the original unless the platform asks for something else. A self-made translation is not a substitute for an official document.
What a clear document photo looks like
A verification photo should look like a straightforward copy of the original document. Put it on a dark, flat surface near soft daylight or an evenly lit indoor area. Avoid taking the picture at an angle. Check the preview before confirming the upload.
- Use an original colour photo or scan. Do not use a screenshot unless the upload form expressly accepts one.
- Keep all four corners visible, including the document number and any security details the form asks you to show.
- Tap the document on your phone screen to set focus, then hold the phone steady until the image is sharp.
- Move the phone slightly if plastic cards reflect light. Glare must not cover your name, photograph, date of birth or address.
- Make every relevant letter and number readable at normal viewing size, not only after heavy zooming.
- Do not crop, filter, brighten artificially, add stickers or place a watermark across the document.
- Upload one document per file unless the form asks for the front and back together.
- Follow the requested file format and size. If conversion reduces readability, recapture the original instead.
Do not hide the name, number or address merely for privacy if the verification request requires those fields to be visible. The safer approach is to submit the image only through the official account upload area and never in response to an unsolicited message.
If a physical card is faded, damaged or difficult to photograph, use another currently valid document that the form accepts. If you are unsure which alternative is suitable, contact support before uploading several versions.
How to submit verification documents
Sign in through the official FairPlay login page or the current app. Account screens can change, so use the labels shown in your own profile rather than relying on an old screenshot.
- Open account settings and find the identity, KYC or verification section.
- Select the exact document type requested, such as identity proof or address proof.
- Upload the front and back only where the form asks for both.
- Review the preview for focus, glare, cropped edges and readable details.
- Confirm the submission and save any reference number, confirmation message or status screen.
Do not keep replacing the same upload while the case is already pending unless the account asks you to do so. Duplicate submissions can make it harder to identify which version the review team is checking.
Also check the email address registered with the account. The team may request a clearer image or a different proof there. If you cannot find the verification section, use FairPlay customer support and describe the screen you see.
How long FairPlay verification review takes
There is no single review duration that applies to every FairPlay account. A complete, readable submission may move through faster, while a case needing manual comparison or extra evidence can take longer. No document guide can honestly promise approval within a fixed number of hours or days.
- Whether every requested field is visible and legible.
- Whether the document name matches the registered account name.
- Whether the address proof matches the information requested.
- Whether the bank account or UPI holder matches the account holder.
- Whether the review team asks for another document or selfie.
- The current review workload and the speed of any reply from you.
A pending status means the request is still being checked; it is not the same as approval or rejection. A returned or rejected status normally means you need to correct something. Read the reason shown in the account before uploading again.
Check the verification status and registered email rather than submitting the same files repeatedly. If the case remains pending and you receive no request for more information, contact support. Mention your username, case reference, document type and the submission time in IST. A status screenshot can help, but do not send a full identity document in the first message unless a secure upload is requested.
Support can explain the next step or confirm whether more evidence is needed. It cannot guarantee a particular outcome while the review is still in progress.
Common reasons documents are returned
Most failed uploads have a simple cause. Fix the specific issue shown in your account instead of sending random documents.
- The photograph is blurred, too dark or affected by glare.
- One or more document corners are outside the image.
- The wrong document category was selected.
- The registered name and document name do not correspond.
- The address proof does not show the address requested.
- The file was cropped, edited, filtered or captured from an unclear photocopy.
- Bank or UPI proof does not show enough information to connect it with your name.
- A document with an applicable validity period is no longer current.
If the name differs because of initials, marriage, a maiden name or document formatting, explain the difference to support and provide the documents it asks for. Do not cover the old name or create a modified image.
A utility bill or bank statement in a family member's name does not establish your address or payment ownership. Ask support what evidence it will accept instead. Likewise, a UPI ID by itself may not be enough if the review request needs the account holder's name.
For a selfie check, follow the on-screen pose or movement instructions. Keep your face visible, avoid heavy filters and make sure the lighting does not cast a shadow across it.
Keeping document uploads secure
Identity documents contain sensitive information. Upload them only through the official FairPlay account area or a secure link provided through verified support. Be cautious of messages that create urgency or ask you to move the conversation to a personal account.
Never share your password, one-time code or payment PIN for verification. Support may ask what document you submitted, but it should not need your login credentials. Keep a private copy of the uploaded files so you can check exactly what was sent.
What happens after approval
Once approved, the account should show the updated verification status. If you request a withdrawal in rupees to a bank account or UPI handle, the payment holder's name should align with the verified account details. See the FairPlay withdrawal guide for the related payment steps.
If you later change your phone number, email address, residence or payment method, use the official account-update process. FairPlay may ask for fresh evidence if the new details cannot be matched to the documents already reviewed.
FairPlay verification questions
Can I use my PAN card for FairPlay ID verification?
PAN may be used as government photo identification if the form accepts it. It does not contain an address, so you may need another document if address proof is requested.
Can I upload a screenshot instead of a photo?
Use a screenshot only if that specific upload field accepts it. For a physical ID, a clear colour photo or scan of the original is usually easier to verify.
Why is payment proof requested?
The review may need to connect your bank account or UPI handle with the name registered on your FairPlay account. Upload only the fields and document type requested, through the secure account form.
What should I do if verification stays pending?
Check your account status and registered email, then contact FairPlay customer support if no update or further request appears. More information is also available in the FairPlay FAQ.
